Walnut, IL (6/20/2015) – Round 6 of the Mtn Dew ATV MX Nationals at Sunset Ridge, in Walnut, IL was another wet and muddy race weekend. Races were cut to a one moto format due to torrential rain that drowned the track on Sunday. On Saturday, there were a few delays because of lightning, but for the most part racing went on with or without the rain.

When the gate dropped for the Youth All Star class, Ford Brother’s Racing, Cody Ford surprised everyone with the holeshot and full out battle with JB Racing’s, Peyton Zimmerman and Alan Myers, for first place. Zimmerman was able to take over first, leading the last 3 laps and taking the win, extending his points lead a little further. Alan Myers finished 2nd, Troy Hill 3rd, Cody Ford 4th, and Logan Stanfield 5th.

Fierce Powersports’ rider, Trevor Thatcher was ready when the gate dropped for the Supermini race. He yanked the holeshot, with lightning speed, but was unable to hold onto the lead as the quads behind him started to bump and bang, pushing him off the track, as they charged out of the corner. Logan Stanfield, Lance Walker, Eli Lingle, and Ford Brother’s Racing Bryce Ford, battled for the top position. Ford won out in the end, with Stanfield in a very close 2nd. Zimmerman finished 3rd, Walker 4th, and Lingle 5th.
