MX Season Opener WMX Win

In the WMX class, Aubre King backed up her Daytona
Supercross win with yet another overall first
place finish. King makes the trip to the ATV MX
nationals all the way from Utah, a 22 hour drive
to the race in Texas.

“First moto didn’t go as planned. I got tangled up with Kiersten, but I came up back to third. Second moto I just went out there and pushed as hard as I could, and ended up first. It is super exciting. I have been putting in a lot of effort and if finally paid off, and it feels great,” stated King
Second place was the number five of Michelle Jenkins. Jenkins had a solid and consistent weekend, going 2-2 for second overall.

Third place was awarded to Root River Racing’s JoHannah Vossman. “I did a little bit better than I was actually expecting. I got the flu Wednesday night and ended up getting strep on Thursday. The odds were kind of against me this weekend, but I got a podium finish in WMX so I am excited,” explained Vossman.

Alan Myers dominated Production A with flawless 1-1 moto finishes. Myers’ also posted the fastest lap time of the class in each moto.

“It started off bad, I had a pretty nasty wreck but I came back so it was a pretty good weekend. I just got the holeshot and stuck with it. It was my first win on a 450 so I am excited,” stated Myers.
Zach Gill captured second place in Production A. Gill rode his Honda to third in moto one, and second in moto two. Rounding out the Production A podium in third was Ryan Korody with 2-3 moto finishes.
Cody Ford had a flawless performance in Production B. Ford won both motos, and lead by over fifteen seconds at the checkered flag in moto two.

“The first moto we grabbed the start and
walked away. Stanfield was pushing the whole time
though. The second moto Stanfield got the start
and I kept the pressure on him. He made a small
mistake and I went by. I cant wait for Muddy Creek
next weekend, hopefully we can repeat this weekend,”
said Ford.
