Chad Wienen Maintains
22 Point Lead at Red Bud MX
::Continued::
Maxxis’ Chad Wienen chose a smart and smooth
approach to the weekend. After taking the win
in the first moto, he fell just short to Hetrick
at the start of the second moto and cruised in
for second.

Maxxis'
#1 Chad Wienen charged his way into the
lead in Moto One to take the moto win
|
“I tried to ride a smooth and calculated race
in the first moto,” said Wienen. “I was pushing
Jeffrey for most of the early part of the race.
I saw Joel make a mistake, and I just rode smooth
to win. Joel and I were neck and neck at the start
of the second moto and he just edged me out for
the holeshot. For the first couple laps, I tried
pushing him, but he was just on it, so I backed
off and played it cool. This championship is just
a great competition. It’s so hard to put two motos
together with both of us riding so well and Jeffrey
stepping it up, as well.”

Chad Wienen
finished 2nd Overall, but he maintained
his 22 point lead over Joel Hetrick heading
into the final two rounds
|
JB Racing’s Jeffrey Rastrelli finished third
in both motos. His second-consecutive and fourth
overall podium places him third in points, 143
points behind Wienen.

Jeffrey
Rastrelli proved his success at Unadilla
MX wasn't a fluke when he once again held
the Moto One lead & finished in 3rd
place
|
“I rode hard in the first moto, took the lead
and then Chad got around me,” said Rastrelli.
“I pushed and didn’t let them get away. I think
we’re showing the work we’re doing and the progress
we’re making. In the second moto, I went out fifth
and got to third pretty quickly. I was trying
to put a dent in their lead, but those guys were
really on it. It’s nice to get back-to-back podiums.
We’ll keep plugging away and hopefully come out
with a moto win at Loretta’s.”

Goldspeed's
Jeffrey Rastrelli finished 3rd again in
Moto 2 for his second straight trip to
the Podium at Red Bud
