Red Bull / Suzuki's Dustin Wimmer Wins Again & Extends Points Lead to 61 points with 3 Rounds to go!
New Berlin, NY – Round number seven of the AMA ATV Motocross Nationals proved to be an exciting one as Can-Am’s Jeremy Lawson and John Natalie who took the wins in moto one and moto two, accordingly, but it was Suzuki’s Dustin Wimmer who once again took the overall win; his fourth overall win of the season, putting him 61 points ahead of Joe Byrd, who is currently holding 2nd in the points race with 218 points.

The sweltering heat wave that has been affecting much of the eastern United States was certainly a factor for racers this weekend. With temperatures reaching in into the upper 90’s and the humidity hovering at around 80 percent, most racers new that fatigue would definitely be a factor in first moto results for them as they took to the starting line with a Suzuki's Chad Wienen sitting out this weekend to allow his shoulder time to heal.

PRO ATV MOTO ONE
As the gate dropped on pro moto number one, it was Josh Upperman aboard his #20 Honda that grabbed the holeshot. Upperman was followed by closely by Suzuki’s Dustin Wimmer, Can-Am/Epic Racing’s Jeremy Lawson, Honda’s Joe Byrd, and Canadian racer Jasmine Plante. The battle was soon on between Wimmer and Lawson as Lawson was right on Wimmer’s grab bar. Shortly into the second lap, Wimmer made a slight bobble, which allowed Lawson to take the lead and begin his pursuit of Upperman.
