Suzuki's Dustin Wimmer Dominates Muddy Creek for 5th Win

Blountville, TN (6/22/2008) – Dustin Wimmer dominated both motos Sunday to claim his second consecutive overall Pro ATV victory at Muddy Creek Raceway. The event, the Oakley Southern Nationals, was Round 8 of the ITP Tires/Moose Racing AMA ATVA Pro Motocross Championship.

Red Bull / Suzuki's Dustin Wimmer claims his 2nd straight Overall Win & 5th Win of the season at Muddy Creek to extends his points lead to 67 points over Honda's Joe Byrd with just three rounds of racing remaining in the 2008 AMA ATV Motocross season

Suzuki's Doug Gust  -  Pro ATV Motocross Racers
Joe Byrd - Honda TRX 450R ATV
#55 Doug Gust grabbed the Moto One Holeshot over Joe Byrd & Dustin Wimmer, and held onto the 3rd spot, and finished out the weekend with an impressive 4th Overall to maintain his 3rd spot in the points chase
#7 Joe Byrd quickly passed Gust to take over the lead in Moto One with Wimmer pressuring Byrd for several laps before taking over the lead at the half-way point and pulling away from Byrd to claim the Win with a 4 second lead

Doug Gust (No. 55 MSR/Suzuki/Yoshimura/Pro Taper) grabbed the Suspension Systems Holeshot Award in the first moto and led the pack to the green flag. Byrd and Wimmer also gated well, with Byrd making a quick move to the inside of Wimmer to move into second. Wimmer and Byrd then dispatched Gust and set out on a battle that had the fans running fence line to fence line. Wimmer made an inside move to the lead at the halfway point, then set sail to the checkered flag. Byrd rode home second, while Gust rounded out the podium.

Josh Creamer - Kawasaki KFX 450R ATV
#44 Chad Wienen was back in action after skipping Unadilla to allow his shoulder to heal, and he held his own in Moto One securing the 4th spot and finishing out the weekend with a Top 5 overall finish, which was his best finish since the season opener
#9 Josh Creamer & #16 Jeremy Lawson were battling for the 5th spot in Moto One when the pair locked wheels, which sent the pair to the back of the pack, and allowed Harold Goodman to capitalize on the situation and claim the 5th spot
