Birch Creek Pro ATV Race Report Continued - Pro Moto Two
#7 Joe Byrd & #199 Pat Brown battle for the Holeshot

Pro Moto two was nothing short of pure racing entertainment. Joe Byrd would once again claim the ATVRiders.com Holeshot Award. Jeremy Lawson and Pat Brown would file in second and third while Chris Tait slipping in behind his teammate. Looking to turn around his first moto results, Pat blasted by Lawson and set his sights on Byrd. Joe would hold onto the lead while Lawson would regain second place by lap three. Slightly behind the leaders were Mike Brown and Justin Bres going hard at it once again. Although Mike Brown would loose his seat on the second lap, he dug deep for endurance to hold off Bres. Back out front, Byrd was working on a two second lead when Pat Brown snuck by Lawson.

On the back section of the track, Justin Bush would get crossed up and stuck just off the side of the track. When his quad stalled he lost precious time and would drop well off pace. “Downtown” Pat Brown would close the gap on Byrd, using his speed through the corners as a lethal weapon. Byrd got a visual of Brown on lap ten when they crossed nearly side by side. Through his hard training, Joe would lower his head to open a small breathing room. As the checkered flag flew, Joe Byrd raised his hands in excited as this was one of the hardest fought wins of the season. Pat Brown crossed in second, however his first Moto result would put him into a fourth place overall position. Jeremy Lawson would secure second place with his 2-3 while Mike Brown would make his first Pro Career podium. Justin Bres would round out the top five aboard his Yamaha.

Mike Brown climbed on top of the podium with a big smile on his face. Still catching his breath, Brown explained how much his training paid off with the absence of his seat during the majority of the second Moto. In his subtleness, Lawson explained the hard battle that was fought out front. Holding his first place trophy high in the air, Byrd gave a big thanks to all his sponsors that helped him earn this win and extend his point lead.

The racing wrapped up shortly after the pro race and everyone began their trek home in high spirits as they just witnessed the best pro race battle of the year. Many amateurs voiced their satisfaction in how well the weekend ran and look forward to returning the Birch Creek facility. The AMA Pro ATV championship series continues in two weeks in Michigan at the Red Bud racetrack.
