Pat Brown Holeshot Award
At 3:00pm Pro Riders took the gate once again, for the final Moto. When the gate hit the ground, the tires dug into the ground propelling the riders up the hill one final time. Honda teammates, Joe Byrd and Jeremy Lawson were neck and neck as they charged up the hill. Pat Brown had the hammer down and wasted no time passing both riders before the official holeshot line. With $100 in his pocket from ATVriders.com, Brown fended off the pressure from Lawson. A determined Lawson would make the pass before they crossed the finish line for the first time.

An epic battled arose between Brown and Byrd as Byrd explored different lines trying to make the pass. After the first lap, it was Shane Hitt locking in fourth place. Mike Brown knocked on the back door of Hitt as Justin Bres followed up the challenge. Christ Tait and Sage Baker began an early battle for 7th place. On Lap three, Sage would overtake Tait and set his eyes on Bres. Tait would continue to push hard and retake the 7th place position on lap 7.

The top six would remain the same until lap 9 where Byrd would pull along side of Brown. A drag race would result in a Byrd claiming second place. At that same time, Lawson had opened a 12 second while pulling out three 1:53 lap times. Lawson would finally back off the throttle on lap twelve when he crossed the finish line. His excitement was visible as he threw his hands in the air. With Joe Byrd crossing in second place, it was a tie for first place It was soon realized by many that a second Moto win outweighed Byrd’s first moto win, putting Lawson at the top of the podium.
