The

racer meeting was held 100 miles away from
the course itself in North Las Vegas at
the Aliante Station Casino & Resort
on Friday |

Q1's
Danny Prather was the first ATV off the
line just after 6AM Saturday morning for
the 298 mile long race |
The course was a point-to-point course and was
298 miles long. The race started just north of
the town of Alamo with the racers heading north
to Pioche, NV before circling back to within a
few miles of the start. The race started at an
elevation of 4,500 feet and went up to over 6000
feet with varied terrain that included tumble
weeds, Joshua trees, and cacti in the lower elevations
to evergreen trees in the higher elevation of
the course near Pioche before heading back to
the desert vallery.
The weather was a bit chilly in the morning for
the sunrise start, but warmed up nicely in the
afternoon. A nice breeze picked up as well and
blew away the dust for good visibility for most
of the day. The pro motorcycles were first to
off the line at 6AM followed the pro quads in
one minute intervals followed by the amateur motorcycle,
ATV, and SxS / UTV classes, which took just over
30 minutes for everyone to leave the starting
line.
The Q49 Can-Am/Motoworks team of Josh Frederick
and Collins Webster were the last pro ATV team
to leave the starting line, four minutes behind
the Q1 of David Scott and Danny Prather.

Can-Am
/ Motoworks' Josh Frederick started the
race & ran the first 72 miles of the
race before handing off the DS450 to Collins
Webster |
Frederick started off the race and rode to mile
marker 72 before handing the DS450 off to Webster,
who rode well and maintained a tight race with
the Q1 team with only 26 seconds separating the
pair with the 3 minute time adjustment at the
175 mile mark of the race before Frederick’s
took over for the final leg of the race. Frederick
kept the throttle pinned for the final leg of
the race, which allowed the team to take over
the time adjusted lead. Although Frederick did
not physically take over the lead, with the time
adjustment, the Can-Am team was able to take the
Pro ATV win with a time of 5:56:54
|
Can-Am
/ Motoworks' Collins Webster put in a good
run as he kept the leaders within reach,
which set the stage for Frederick to take
over for the final leg of the race |

DWT's
Q49 of Josh Frederick & Collins Webster
secured the win with just over 2 minutes
to spare on their new proto-type desert
tires without any flats |
It was a good victory for the team, especially
after they encountered issues at the Parker 250
season opener. “We had to keep the hammer
down the entire race and you had to be on your
toes because of the high speed turns and cliffs,
but it was a really good race and we had a great
time out there. The Can-Am did great and never
skipped a beat,” said Frederick.
“I haven’t raced the BITD series
in about four or five years so it was like my
first time out again. I had a great time out there
and I have to thank Can-Am and Motoworks for giving
me the opportunity to race out here. We had such
a great time, the course was fast and smooth for
the most part so everything just flowed really
well,” said Collins Webster.
