BITD Pahrump 250 UTV Race Report
::Continued::
Libby made the nearly 3,000-mile trip from his
home state of Maine pay off with his first podium
in his first BITD season. “This is the first Can-Am
I’ve owned, and it’s an amazing machine,” said
Libby. “This is the biggest stage in off road
racing and we needed to be here. That’s why we
came all the way out here. We had a rough year,
we missed a few races, so to come out here and
finish third is amazing for us.”

Blurton capped what could only be described as
a dream season with a fourth-place effort, which
clinched the 2017 BITD Pro Turbo UTV Championship.
Blurton, who only needed to finish ninth or better
to earn the title, ran an ultra-conservative pace
and still ended up with a top five in his No Limit
Can-Am Maverick X3. Blurton won two races in his
rookie season en route to the title.

“We got into fifth place early and then ran our
pace from there,” said Blurton. “We had to fight
the dust early and then the rocks late, but the
track was fun. We just completed the job we came
here for. There are a ton of awesome drivers in
this series. That’s why we came here. It’s cool
to race them and they’re all awesome people.”
Livernash overcame two issues early in the race
and finished fifth after cutting down two rear
tires. He credited Tire Blocks for getting him
to end.

“It was a great race at a super fast pace,” said
Livernash. “We were able to fix one issue really
quickly in the field and the other was taken care
of by our awesome crew at pit seven. Thanks to
Tire Blocks, we finished the race with both of
our rear tires cut and no air in them. Tire blocks
are the only way to go!”
Guthrie finished seventh in his Polaris, just
behind the Can-Am of Marc Burnett. Guthrie came
into the race with a mathematical chance at the
title and finished third physically, netting third
in points in just his second year in desert racing.

Mitch Guthrie
Jr finshed out the BITD season 3rd in
points

“We had a little bad luck, but everything was
smooth, the pits were awesome and we finished
third physically,” said Guthrie. “We definitely
needed some luck on our side because we’re racing
with guys like Brandon Schueler, who always comes
out swinging. We were going for it during this
last race, but it didn’t work out for us. We had
a pretty good year and to come out third is pretty
good. We got three wins in seven races, so I’m
pretty happy with that.”
