                                  250 SxS Race Report::Continued::
Coastal Racing’s Mark Holz held the lead to the
final lap of the race, but suffered a flat tire,
which forced him to pit and make a tire change.
Despite his best effort, Holz wasn’t able to reel
in Jagged X and was forced to settle for a second
place finish, which dropped the team back to a
third place finish in the points race.

/ Holz Racing's Mark Holz got off to a great
start holding the lead to the final lap
before suffering a flat tire, which dropped
him back to second place | “We had to stop and get fuel on the last lap
and that put them right behind us going out, and
driver error, made a mistake, and got a flat.
I would like to thank Polaris, Walker Evans Racing,
BF Goodrich Tires, and Holz Racing,” said Mark
Holz on the podium in the second spot. Can-am’s Jason and Derek Murray held the points
lead heading into the Henderson 250, but they
didn’t have the right clutch setup for the season
finale, which didn’t allow them to run at the
same speed as the top two finishers, but they
still held on to claim a top three finish. "We
pushed the car to its limit and gave it all we
had, but unfortunately, the clutching didn’t give
us the top end that we needed,” said Dereck Murray.

/ Murray Brothers finished in the third
spot & just missed taking the Best in
the Desert UTV Pro Championship by one position | If the Murray Brothers could have finished ahead
of Holz, they would have secured the BITD UTV
Pro championship for Can-Am, but they just fell
short in their first year of racing the new Can-Am
Maverick with second place finish for the year.
"The Maverick has been amazing. It's flawless,
drives awesome, and it's reliable, but we just
didn’t have the top speed today, " said Derek
Murray. One of the few female racers in the BITD Series,
Christina Perkins and her teammate Kent Perkins
finished the race in fourth place just over four
minutes behind the Murray Brothers. This was Perkins
first year of racing the BITD series fulltime,
and they can’t wait till next year. Rounding out the top five in the UTV Pro class
was Cognito Racing’s Justin Lambert. In the SR1 UTV Class, it was John Deere / Vigor
Motorsports’ Matt Krimple taking the Henderson
250 win, which was his second straight win in
the modified John Deere 825. Krimple finish nearly
five minutes ahead of second place finisher, Desert
Toyz’s Jeff Kary. SR1 Pro class points leader,
Desert Toyz’s Brad Griego rounded out the top
                                three on the day.

at the Henderson 250 | In the UTV Sport class, Joanne Gonzales claimed
an impressive win over Brad Geczi by taking the
win with a commanding 10 minutes and 42 seconds
lead. With the 2013 Best in the Desert racing season
in the history books, the start of the 2014 season
is just over a month away with the seson kickoff
on January 11th with the Parker 250 in Parker,
