Ava, MO -After Round 2 was cancelled
at Brownstown, IL, racers waited two more weeks
for the Round 2 to take place at Ozark Mountain
Raceway in Ava, MO, and once again, rain was in
the forecast, but fortunately, the rain showers
took a detour this weekend and all the racing went
on without any interruption.
For those that made the long haul out west, they
were treated to an awesome race track at Ozark
Mountain Raceway. Since the national last year,
track owner, Roy Reed, has been burning the midnight
oil as the redesigned track received a significant
face lift and the changes were greatly appreciated
by everyone in attendance. Also, the OMR crew
did a great job maintaining the track all weekend,
which made for some great racing action.
Despite the track being located in the middle
of no where, there was a huge spectator turnout
for the Pro racing action, which began after 5PM
and lasted for several hours into the night.
In the Pro Class, 2007 ATVA Extreme Dirt Track Champion,
resumed his position at the top of the box after
charging his way to the front of the pack to claim
the win and take over the points lead from round
one winner, Mitch Reynolds. Once Goodman took over
the lead, he checked out on the competition, and
held a several second lead by the checkered flag
on his Houser Racing’s Honda TRX 450R
Michael Coburn also got off to a great start
and held onto the 2nd spot for a Podium finish
followed by Brad Riley. Riley charged his way
through the pack to claim the final Podium spot
for his second straight Pro Podium finish.
Mitch Reynolds just missed another Podium finish
with a 4th place finish, which dropped him back
to 2nd place in points. Danny McGraw grabbed the
Pro class Holeshot, but began to fade as the race
approached the final laps, and Ryan Partee charged
his way from a 2nd row start to take over the
5th spot from McGraw, which rounded out the top
5 overall.
On a sad note, Doug Obie & Chris Mezo wrecked
during the start of their Heat race, which sent
the pair to the hospital for treatment with Obie
being later released badly bruised, but no serious
injuries. Unfortunatley for Mezo, his conditions
is much worse, and it has been reported he is
in intensive care with head trauma, so please
keep him in your thoughts and prayers untilmore
news on his condition is released.
In the Pro Lites, it was Michael Coburn claiming
the Holeshot and never looking back as he went
on to claim his first win of the season. Mitch
Reynolds & Harold Goodman both got off to
slow starts, but the pair worked their way up
onto the Podium once again in the Pro Lites class
with round one winner, Kendall Webb dropping back
to 4th place finish followed by Josh Hibdon in
fifth.

he left off at Twin Creeks with yet another win
as he lead the class from start to finish. Brad
Riley was once again on the gas, and he charged
his way up to yet another Podium finish followed
by Josh Hibdon.
