Ava, MO - American Honda’s Harold Goodman showed he is the Extreme Dirt Track Pro and Pro Lites Champion for a reason. Goodman picked up right where he left off last season by taking a double win in both classes, leaving his top competitor, Michael Coburn to settle for second.

Beautiful weather was on tap for the season opener in Ava, MO, which was a vast improvement from just a few weeks prior when a tornado swept through the area almost devastating the facility. With the help of many volunteers, the Extreme DirtTrack staff was able to make repairs and have the track and facility in great shape and ready in time for the season opener.

PRO ATV MAIN RACE REPORT

Defending Pro and Pro Lites champion, Harold Goodman made it know that he has every intension of keeping his title intact as he flew off the line in the Pro main event to take the ATVRiders.com Holeshot Award, but Michael Coburn was right on his heels. Harold stayed strong and made no mistakes, despite Coburn’s best efforts to pressure him, and went on to take his first EDT Pro win.

Pro ATV Holeshot

Houser Racing's Harold Goodman grabs the ATVriders.com Holeshot Award in Pro ATV Main Event by edging out 038 Michael Coburn

Michael Coburn, who was second in the points race last season was looking good as he took the holeshot and won his heat race. Coming off the line in the Pro main event, Coburn was dead even with Goodman, but was pinched out on the first turn and had to settle for second in the holeshot. Coburn stayed close to Goodman for most of the race, but did a fade slightly towards the end. However, Coburn was unchallenged for second and had a good distance between him and third place. “The track was pretty much single line in most places, even on the split lanes, and it was a little hard to pass. I was waiting for Harold to make a mistake, but I couldn’t make the pass,” said Coburn who looks even faster this season and could give Goodman some stiff competition for the championship.
