Racing's #038 Michael Coburn held off #27
Brad Riley to claim the 2nd spot on the
Podium followed by Riley |
The collision behind Goodman, involved McKibben
and Cooke, which ended their charge for a podium
finish, but helped others, such as K&N’s
Michael Coburn, who got a slower start, to get ahead
and gained a couple of positions. Coburn started
out in fourth place off the start, not a good position
for a track that is tough to make a pass, but Coburn
went from fourth to second in the blink of an eye
and held off Brad Riley all the way to the checkered
flag to claim the second spot on the podium.
Malaska Motorsports’ Brad Riley was right
on Michael Coburn’s grab bar off the start
and followed him closely for the entire race.
Riley pressured Coburn, but was unable to make
a move and settled in for a solid third place
finish.

Mahan held off a charging Frank Batista to round
out the top five. Frank Batista, who took third
in the heat race, was only able to make it to
sixth place, due to Mahan’s blocking abilities,
before crossing the finish line with Nick Camilli
right behind him in seventh.

but had an engine failure in the final lap of
the race, which sent him to the back of the pack.
Kirby Cooke and Casey McKibben were towards the
front off the start, after winning their heat
races, but there collision sent them to the back
of the pack, and Cooke’s troubles continued
when his wheel came off and ended his race early.
