"Big Buck" GNCC Pro ATV Race Report

Union, SC - FRE KTM mounted rider Adam McGill for the third straight race worked his way to the overall finish claiming yet another win in the XC 1 Pro class! McGill’s win would not come as easy as the first two, however the victory sent a strong message to all that this team can over come issues and still win!

Adam McGill KTM ATV Holeshot GNCC
KTM's #5 Adam McGill Wins his 3rd Straight GNCC Race and extends his points lead to 33 points over Brandon Sommers in 2nd Place
The region was hammered with rain overnight and periodically through the day as the stage was set for the 1pm start. With 24 XC 1 entries, getting a good start would be crucial, and when the green flag dropped, McGill found himself almost last off the line in 18th and giving chase to the field. By the time the first lap was scored, McGill had moved into the 7th spot after making a charge at a bottleneck on the first lap. With much of the woods sections deeply rutted and tight, passing would be hard however, Adam kept charging as he moved into 3rd by lap two. With the leaders now in front of him by only a slim margin, the KTM mounted rider continued his push overtaking the lead on lap 3 and held the lead to the checkered flag. This win was not a blow out like the previous two rounds, but the come from behind victory added more credibility to his ability and that of his team.

Bryan Cook - Honda TRX 450R ATV
Bryan Cook grabbed the Holeshot and held the lead for two lap and finished in the 2nd spot, which moved him up to 3rd in Points
Privateer Bryan Cook took the holeshot and was putting in an impressive ride right from the start. This was Cooks first ever GNCC XC1 holeshot and he explained that he had to look around to see that he indeed was the leader at the start! Cook remained the leader until lap 3 when Adam McGill worked past him, dropping Cook to the 2nd spot where he remained for the rest of the race. Bryan Cook is off to a stellar year and being a privateer has him working hard on and off the track to keep his machine up front. Cook currently holds second in points and if he can keep up the solid finishes, he will be setting the stage for his best ever-Pro class season!

Brandon Sommers Yamaha YFZ450 ATV
Brandon Sommers is making a huge impact in his rookie year and is currently ranked 2nd in points
Brandon Sommers rookie XC1 year is off to an incredible start, and this round would have Sommers once again on the podium as he finished 3rd. The young Ohio native rode almost flawlessly the entire race and at one point was reportedly in the lead as he passed Cook. By lap 3, Sommers had tucked in behind Cook as the pair did their best to run down a hard charging Adam McGill. Brandon showed us once again that he has everything in place to win overalls, and with each round he gets that much closer to claiming his first XC1 win. Sitting 3rd in points has the young rookie looking down on a host of riders that will be doing what they can to move him off the top of the XC1 points!

Chris Borich - Suzuki LTR450 ATV
Chris Borich is currently 4th in points after a 4th place finish at Big Buck.
Chris Borich would find himself just outside the leaders pace for most of the race this round. Borich’s Suzuki has not been the fastest off the line and this round was no different as he found himself mid pack and banging bars at the start. Chris moved to the 4th position and remained there until the end, clinching another top 5 finish. Working with the new machine and dialing in new products will hopefully find this rider back in the winning groove soon, as the talent Borich has displayed in past seasons has not been brought to bear on the competition since round 1.
