Michael Swift |
While KTM/FRE was the dominating force in some
of the sport quad classes, it was the Can-Am
Warnert team that took control of the Utility
classes. Michael Swift picked up right where
he left off last season. The 2008 4x4 Limited
class champion took the class win and claimed
third overall in the morning classes, while
teammate Cliff Beasley showed why he is the
reigning champ in the 4x4 Lites lass. Beasley’s
strong performance earned him the win in his
class and a solid 7th place overall.
Polaris/Rath Racing’s Daryl Rath and
Frank Batista put up a good fight, but they
were no match for 2008 4x4 Open champ, Bryan
Buckhannon, who is the newest member of the
Can-Am Warnert team. Buckhannon took the 4x4
Open win and claimed an impressive 5th overall
while Can-Am X-Team racer Scott Kilby took second
in the 4x4 Open class leaving Daryl Rath to
settle for third.

With only a one week gap, there is little time
for racers to rest up and prepare their machines
for the second round of the 2009 GNCC series,
which will be heading to Washington, GA on March
7-8 for The Maxxis General (round two) of the
2009 GNCC series.
