Washington, GA - Suzuki’s
Chris Borich continues his winning streak at Round
2 of the 2011 Can-am GNCC Racing Series with a
win at “The General” GNCC. Can-Am
/ Warnert Racing’s Chris Bithell and Adam
McGill round out the Pro ATV XC1 Podium.
DWT’s Chris Borich shadowed the leaders
for nearly the entire race until the final lap
when Borich made his move on Bithell to take
control of the lead and claim his 9th straight
GNCC Pro ATV Win as he remains undefeated since
May of 2010.
Foremost Insurance’s Chris Bithell held
the lead for nearly the entire race with Brian
Wolf and Borich in chase for three laps, but
Wolf’s engine blew in lap four, which
sidelined the Pro Rookie, and left Bithell with
Borich on his rear fender. Bithell lost the
lead in the final lap and finished less than
3 seconds behind Borich for his 2nd straight
Podium finish to kick-off 2011, which boost
Bithell into the 2nd spot in the points chase.
NSK’s Adam McGill got off to a fair start
in 6th place, but he had his work cut out for
him as he worked his way up into the 3rd spot,
but wasn’t able to close the gap on the
leaders as finished nearly 25 seconds behind
Bithell for the final spot on the Podium.
Yamaha’s Taylor Kiser lost most of his
time in the first lap, when he checked in 40
seconds behind the leaders in 8th place, which
was a deficit that he wasn’t able to overcome
as he managed to pick off several racers to
move up to the 4th spot, he never was able to
challenge McGill for the final spot on the Podium.
National Guard’s Jarrod McClure put in
another impressive race as he stayed consistent
through out the 2 hour race to round out the
Top 5 Overall with a 2.5 minute lead over 6th
place finisher Yamaha’s Johnny Gallagher.
McClure has one of the busiest racing schedule
for 2011 as he pulls double duty racing the
GNCC and WORCS Series, and next weekend he will
be out west at Lake Havasu, AZ for Round 3 of
the WORCS Series.
Yamaha’s 9 Time GNCC Champion, Bill Ballance,
race was once again ended early with him pulling
off after the end of the 4th lap with mechanical
issues, which seriously hampers Ballance’s
chances at securing a 10th championship in 2011.
Ballance Racing’s Walker Fowler once
again was a dominate force in the XC2 Pro-Am
Class as he secured his 2nd straight win of
the season with a nearly 5 minute margin of
victory over Parker Jones taking the 2nd spot.
KTM mounted Aarol Bright claimed the final spot
on the Podium.
Super Senior, Dave Simmons, claims the Morning
Overall win.Can-Am's Bryan Buckhannon claimed
the 4x4 Open win and Cliff Beasley takes the
U2 Class win for a Podium finish.
Polaris / National Guard Racing's William Yokley
charged his way to the front to claim the Open
Modified and SxS Overallwin in the Polaris RZR
XP 900. Customs Night Krawlers claimed the 2nd
Spot in there Can-Am Commander followed by Rath
Racing's Daryl Rath rounding out the Podium
for Polaris.
Round 3 of the GNCC racing is just two weeks
away with the “Steele Creek GNCC”
in Morganton, North Carolina, which is known
for its bottlenecks and tight racing action.
