Rookie, Gabe Phillips, had the best race
of his career and finished fifth in the XC1
Pro Class. Phillips was in tenth for the first
two laps before moving up to sixth on lap
three on his GBC Tire / Yamaha. Phillips continued
to push through the gnarly conditions and
moved into the top five position on the final
lap. The finish not only marked the best of
his career, but also gave the West Virginia
native a boost in the class points.

Braden Henthorn took sixth for the day. Henthorn
ran in fourth for lap one, but dropped back
as the conditions worsened. Henthorn battled
for the final two laps and it came down to
the last few miles for him to earn the six
spot. Johnny Gallagher finished in seventh.
The HMF racer battled all day between eighth
and sixth before settling into the seventh
spot. Eric Hoyland, Brian Wolf and Jarrod
McClure rounded out the top ten in the XC1
Pro Class.

Henthorn matched his season best finish
of 6th place for the fifth time this
year as he goes for a top five finish.
Henthorn currently is 6th Overall just
2 points ahead of Johnny Gallagher |
In the XC2 Pro Am Class, Brycen Neal earned
the win and wrapped up the class championship.
Neal took over the lead on lap two and never
looked back. He took the win by an impressive
1:50.156. Pat McGuire and Fred Marley rounded
out the Pro Am podium.

The next round of AMSOIL GNCC Racing will
be held in three weeks at Powerline Park in
St. Clairsville, Ohio. Despite both the Pro
and Pro-Am Championships being locked up,
the racing should be exciting with many close
points battles on the line. Tune in October
12th to see how it all plays out.
