Union SC (4/12/2014) –
Round four of the Amsoil GNCC Racing Series
headed to Union, South Carolina for the Big
Buck, and Westley Wolfe claimed the Schoolboy
class and overall win on the day. Can-Am’s
Jordon Phillips claimed his second win of
the season in the 4x4 Pro Class with Kevin
Trantham and Bryan Buckhannon rounding out
the 4x4 Pro Podium.
After a wet Steele Creek GNCC, which left
everyone covered in mud, GNCC racers were
treated to perfect racing conditions at the
Big Buck GNCC, and Can-Am’s Jordon Phillips
took advantage of the great track conditions
as he held the lead from lap one to the checkered
flag for the 4x4 Pro Class win, which is the
first racer in the class to win twice this
season.

Kenda’s Kevin Trantham got off to a slow
start, but he charged his way into the second
spot by the midway point of the race and challenged
Phillips for the lead in the final two laps
of the race, but he wasn’t able to make pass
and finished right on Phillips rear bumper
at the checkered in the second spot. Despite
not winning the race, Trantham’s second place
finish moved him past Buckhannon into the
4x4 Pro class points lead by a slim margin.

Kevin Trantham finished less than a second behind Jordan Phillips
|
Rounding out the Pro 4x4 podium was Bryan
Buckhannon with his fourth straight podium
finish. Buckhannon is the only racer in the
top four that claimed a podium finish at every
race, but he has yet to take home the win.
