Rick Cecco made the switch back to the Can-Am
Renegade for 2015, after spending last season
on Polaris, and had a good race. Cecco was toward
the back on the first lap and made his way into
seventh place, where he stayed all the way to
the checkered flag

In the WXC class, Angel Knox picked up right
where she left off last season: with a win. Know
was third going into the first turn, but was able
to move up after another rider clipped a tree.
“I was able to take over the lead right after
they hit the tree and I never looked back. It
was a rough course, which is typical for Florida
but I am very excited to get the win, especially
since I haven’t been able to get much seat time
in so I am pretty stoked,” said Knox.

Alicia McCormick who finished fifth in series
points last season was looking strong. McCormick
grabbed the holeshot but a half mile in she hit
a tree and dropped back. McCormick was able to
get back on track and charged her way back up
for a second place finish in the WXC class. “It
was a tough race. I grabbed the holeshot and then
I hit a tree about a half mile in so I went from
hero to zero just like that. I was able to get
going again and I got back up to second so I am
happy because that was the toughest track I have
ever raced,” said McCormick.

Katelyn Osburn worked her way up from a fifth
place start and claimed third in the WXC class
while Kylie Ahart finished fourth and Kara Merritt
rounded out the top five.
There was plenty of competition in the 4x4A/B
class where Can-Am Mounted Ben Bruce took his
class win, while Chris Robinson claimed second
and Scott Day rounded out the top three. “That
was a rough track with all the whoops and palmettos.
I did make a pass for the lead but got passed
back, but it was so rough I am glad to finish
in second,” said Chris Robinson, who made the
trek from Texas for this round.
In the Super Sr. class, 12 time and defending
champion, Dave Simmons never missed a beat. Simmons
was first off the start and held his lead all
the way to the checkered flag. “I felt pretty
good out there. I have been stuck up in the snow
up north and haven’t been able to ride much so
I am really happy with how I did,” said Simmons,
who also finished in eighth overall.
