Yamaha's Dustin Nelson Wins both
Motos to claim his 2nd Overall win of the
year & the points lead by 2 points over
Can-Am's Jeremie Warnia |
Surprise, AZ - Yamaha’s Dustin
Nelson took the Pro Production win and regained
the points lead at round number four of the Yamaha
ITP Quadcross series, while Keith Tebeau took top
honors in the Open Pro class.
The night time events of the ITP Quadcross series
always offer its own unique set if challenges.
As the sun sets, and the stadium lights come on,
shadows are cast and depth perceptions can be
thrown off, particularly in some of the darker
areas of the track. “I came out here a couple
of days ahead of time just so I could practice
at night and get a feel for it,” said Can-Am
Epic Racing’s Sage Baker.
Yamaha’s Dustin Nelson didn’t seem
to have any problems with racing at night and
had a great night despite a nasty crash at round
five of the WORCS series just one week before.
“I was a little sore and worried about my
shoulder holding up, but once I got out there
I kind of forgot about it and just rode my own
race,” said Nelson.

Yamaha's
Dustin Nelson barely edged out Motowork's
Jeremia Warnia for the Holeshot in Moto
One |
Nelson grabbed the holeshot in the first moto
and held his lead from start to finish despite
pressure from Can-Am Motowork’s Jeremie
Warnia early on, but Warnia would bobble in his
quest for the lead and leave Nelson to take and
easy win.

Yamaha's
Dustin Nelson once again grabbed the Holeshot
in Moto 2 with Jeremie Warnia in hot pursuit
early on in the Moto. |
Moto two was almost deja vu for Nelson as he
grabbed his second holeshot of the night and led
from start to finish. Nelson’s 1-1 pt him
on top of the podium for the evening and allowed
him to retake the Pro Production points lead.
“Everything just wet really well for me
out there. My shoulder held up and I was able
to set the pace and ride a good race,” said
Nelson.
