In the second Pro Production moto, John Natalie
may have grabbed the holeshot, but Warnia was quick
to make the pass and pull away as Natalie ended
up dealing with a flat tire. Warnia kept his lead
all the way to the checkers to win the battle, but
ultimately, it was Dustin Nelson who would win the
war. “I knew that all I had to do was finish
in second to take the overall, so I just tried to
ride smart and stay consistent,” said Nelson,
who is now only three points behind Warnia going
into the final round. “All I have to do is
win the last round and I will take the championship
again,” said Nelson, who admits he will have
his work cut out for him as it is rumored the entire
Can-Am Motoworks team will be in attendance for
the final round at Glen Helen.

#94 Dustin Nelson grabbed the Overall Win,
which sets the stage for the final round with
the championship up for grabs between Nelson
                                    & Jeremie Warnia |
Although Jeremie Warnia put on an awesome charge
to take the second moto win, his 4-1 finishes were
not enough to put him on top as he was forced to
settle for second. However, Warnia still holds the
points lead and will be tough to beat as he is hoping
to win his first championship in the States.

#62 Jeremie Warnia claimed the Moto 2 Win,
which netted him a 2nd overall finish, which
narrows his points lead to only 3 points
over Dustin Nelson | Chad Wienen got off to a slower start in moto
two and had to work his way through traffic, which
seemed to be an easy task for him. Wienen made
his way into third before the end of the first
lap and held that position all the way to the
finish line. Wienen’s 2-3 finishes put him
in third overall for the day. “I’m
just happy that I get to come out and do all these
races. I love to race and Johnny (Leach) is giving
me the opportunity to just that, so I’m
pretty happy how things are going for me,”
said the number 44 Can-Am. Yamaha’s Thomas Brown was looking good
again in moto two despite a gnarly crash during
Saturday’s practice that had him seeing
stars but left him feeling ok for the most part.
“I had a blast out there. There were a lot
of talented riders out there and we had some good
battles. I’m looking forward to the last
round because it’s good practice and good
racing,” said Brown, whose 3-4 finishes
would land him in fourth overall.

Yamaha’s Justin Noss, who has made several
podium appearances and took his first overall pro
win at round five, was riding strong and consistent.
Noss was in third off the line for the second moto
and was battling with Jeremie Warnia for second
until Warnia was able to pull away a bit. Noss would
fall back as Wienen and Thomas Brown would make
the pass on him after pressuring for a couple of
laps, but Noss would hold off Dunkleberger to take
fifth in moto two, which would also give him fifth
overall and put him in a very comfortable third
place in the points chase. “I feel good about
where I am in points. It is a double points round
for the last round, so I want to end the season
on the podium,” said Noss, who is quite capable
                              of achieving that goal.
