DWT's
Jeremie Warnia takes the checkered after
13 laps of racing for his 1st Le Touquet
Quaduro Win |
Jeremie Warnia won the race with great admiration.
He’s pace in the last rounds was still very
impressive. The Frenchmen, who now lives in California,
finally won his first le Touquet after eight attempts
over the years. He hopes to come back next year
to defend his title. Romain Couprie had to settle
this year for second place, instead of first place
like last few years. Courpie, who recently changed
teams, has won the race already five times in
the last six years.
Although the first three places remained unchanged,
behind the top three a lot changed. Davy Decuyper,
who took the Holeshot, remained in the top 10.
However, a broken chain decided otherwise on
the faith of the young Belgian. Joe Maessen
from Holland remained fifth, but Jan Vlaeymans
(Planet Quad - WTEC) got back in front. Vlaeymans,
who crashed in his first lap, charged hard to
end up at fourth place. Remarkable was that
all top five riders road solo.

With several hundred ATVs running over
the sand for 10+ laps, the sand track
was far from smooth, and over a third
of the ATV racers didn't complete half
the laps as they stuggled to free their
quads and get around the track, and some
even pushed their quads across the finish
line |
The trend of riding the race alone has become
more popular every year. This edition alone
almost 180 contenders entered the races on their
own. The pace on the race was so high, that
only the first five riders remained on the same
lap, and all the other riders were lapped at
least once.

Justine
Lesselingue was the top female finisher
with 11 laps & 25th overall |
Also, the last few years, the Quaduro also praises
its female riders. With eleven laps, two less
than Warnia, and the twenty-fifth place in the
overall ranking. Justine Lesselingue (Yamaha)
won before Liebart/Coppelmans (WTEC) and Barnes/Miller
(Honda).
The 3 hour beach race is very demanding on
both rider and machine. From the 460 starters,
about 25 had to end their Le Touquet in the
first lap. Even more, one fifth of the riders
didn’t finish. The last hour is for most
riders torture. The race transformed the beach
sand into a series of holes.
