NE EDT Racing Series Round 1 - Ironclad Motorsports Kinston, NC May 10, 2014

Fisher and Robert Landreth swapped leads for the first half of the twelve-lap race but it was Jason Fisher who was finally able to get his bike to stick and put the #79 Tru-Way Racing, Precise Hoosier 450r out front.  Matt Schaeffer was able to slide his way into second as the Landreth slid back a few spots as the race got through the half-way point.

A race for third place developed and this allowed Fisher to gain a comfortable lead in the final laps and gave Schaeffer a little bit of room in second place. Corin Lambeth came from a seventh place start and was able to push his way up to the third place spot as the final laps progressed.

Fisher went on to capture his first win of the season, followed by Schaeffer, and Lambeth for the last spot on the podium. Robert Landreth claimed fourth place followed by Bennett, Landreth, Shank, Robert Lobello, Andy Sier, and Bryan Robertson to round out the top 10.

The All Purpose Solution Youth Supermini class was up next. This was the series top youth riders and had a $510 purse available with another $100 TRE Holeshot award also up for grabs.

The #81 of Kohl Moore of Red Lion, PA was the top qualifier and as he picked his spot at the line eight more of the country’s fastest youth TT riders came to the line. If the 90cc class was any indication of how this race was going to go, we were going to have what could be the race of the day.

Dylan Dworak grabbed the $100 TRE Holeshot award

 As the buzzing of the 2 strokes got louder the light turned green and it was the #500 rider Dylan Dworak who grabbed the TRE holeshot award. But it was the #518 Ashton Russell who put the throttle down and slide his way into the lead in the first lap followed very closely by Carter Buff, Dylan Dworak ,Kohl Moore, and Nicholas Coltrane as the top 5 riders at the start of the race. 

Last years 90cc National Champ Buff was on a mission as he applied pressure on the first place rider Ashton Russell as he did not want a repeat of the 90cc class where Russell was able to take the win.

Carter Buff was finally able to make the pass and moved into the first place spot. The battle for second place was on as this allowed Buff to get a little bit more room and hold down first place. There was a heated three-way battle for the second spot with each rider only inches away from each other. Dworak put the hammer down on the front straightaway in the final laps and was able to make an outside pass stick and moved his way into second, which started the battle between Moore and Russell for the final podium spot.

Buff on a Phibbs Powersports / Buffs Auto service/  2 Fast / Apex was able to capture the win, followed by Dworak and Moore taking the last spot on the podium. Russell finished 4th followed by Nicholas Coltrane, Braxton Vick, Taylor Jennings, Kenny Phillips and Ashley Rogers rounding out the top 10.

Rounds two and three of the HB Racing NE EDT series will take place at the legendary Pine Lake atv TT park in Ashtabula, Ohio on June 7th and 8th.
