NE EDT Racing Round
3 UTV Race Report
::Continued::
Osier topped off a busy travel week by finishing
sixth in the race, driving Maddie Cox’s RZR. Osier
hauled several Addict Racing UTVs from Utah and
came here to support his drivers. In addition,
he put up $1000 for the winner of the UTV Production
race.

“I have a bunch of racers that race out here
so I wanted to be here and show some support,”
said Osier. “As an engine builder, I can be here
to help tune engines. I had a blast. I didn’t
expect to win anything. I raced Maddie’s little
pink car. My guys told me: ‘I’ll die before I
lose to a pink car.’ I didn’t finish last so there
are some guys that are hurting tonight. They got
beat by a little pink car.”
Johnny Shealy pocketed the $1000 prize for winning
the SXS 1000 Production amateur race, ahead of
Maddie Cox.

“I appreciate Jim Osier from Addict Racing putting
up that $1000,” said Shealy. “I was told I took
the holeshot, but I wasn’t looking back. She battled
with me the whole race. I like this race track.
It was fast and a lot of fun. Air pressure and
Hoosier Tires were the key today.”

Cox was right on Shealy’s bumper at the start,
but the slick North Carolina mud challenged the
desert racing veteran and she finished second.

“I think I want to be back in the desert,” quipped
Cox. “I forgot I was back on the East Coast again
in the clay. I got used to the track as the race
went on. I’m used to not being on slick mud, but
it was nice be running back east.”
NE-EDT heads to Milan, MI for its next race,
scheduled for July 2 at Twisted MX.
