“This has definitely been a tough weekend,” said Anderson. “We’ve had broken axles and crashes. I’m so lucky to have the team behind me. We started last in the first race and ended up second. I loved battling Sarah. She’s such a clean racer. I’m just pumped with second after the hard work we put into my car. We can’t wait to come back and race in Terracross again.”

K&N’s Katie Vernola is not your typical Playboy Playmate as she is a real daredevil, and this wasn’t a onetime race for Vernola. She competes regularly in the Lucas Oil Series, and we also saw her at the BITD UTV World Championship back in February.

GoPro’s Dana Creech was Vernola’s co-driver for the event, and he has plenty of experience with several podium finishes in the 2014 Terracross Championship season. The pair combined for a third place finish in round one and a fourth place in the second round.

“I don’t think I breathed the whole time; it was gnarly out there,” said Vernola. “It’s been an awesome experience. I had a learning curve, but the cars are all stock, so it all comes down the driver. That’s the fun part about it. You never want to keep your eye off of everything. It’s a great show. It’s fun for the drivers, but also for the fans.”

GMH Motorsport’s Danielle Weatherly claimed the final spot on the podium in the second round of the Terracross doubleheader, and she was also sharing the Polaris RZR XP 1000 with her boyfriend, Mike Gardner, who was competing in the Pro RZR class, which kept the pair busy for the two days of racing.

After an exciting Terracross Championship season opener, the Women’s UTV racers get a few months to prepare for the next doubleheader round of the Terracross Championship held on September 12-13th at during the Sno Barons Hay Days in North Branch, MN.
