Terracross Championship
Women's RZR Racing Report
::Continued::
In the second race, Price dominated, snagging
the holeshot and then driving on to victory.
|
Optimas Starter's
Sara Price grabbed the Holeshot in Round
4 & lead the race from start to finish
for her fourth straight Terracross Win
|
“I was out there battling with Jolene and Shelby,”
said Price. “I rode a clean race and stayed as
smooth as I possibly could. My goal was to get
out front as fast as I could. That’s what I did.”
|
Toyota Escondido's
Sara Price remains undefeated with four
straight Terracross Championships wins
heading into the season finale doubleheader
|
Van Vugt, a regular member of the Nitro Circus,
spends most of her time traveling the world doing
freestyle events on motorcycles. Price convinced
Van Vugt to come out this weekend and she netted
the runner-up slot in the second race.
|
Rockstar
Energy's Jolene Van Vugt was able to charge
her way past Shelby Anderson to secure
a 2nd place finish at Round 4
|
“From my first experiences in this type of racing,
that was one of the coolest races I’ve ever had,”
said Van Vugt. “I can’t really describe how stoked
I am. I came out here with the goal of making
the main, stay on four wheels and just get through
it. I did more than that, and I’m very proud.”
Anderson earned her third-place finish in the
second race, nursing a flat tire for most of the
event. “I got a flat tire on the second lap,”
explained Anderson. “All the turns here are right
handed and I got a left-rear flat so I didn’t
have any traction coming out of the turns. Jolene
and I had some great battles. She took second,
and I came out third. We had a clean race. I’d
like to have more of these. The over-under was
a little bit sketchy, but it’s all about racing
and you have to do what you have to do.”
|
Shelby Anderson
finished in the third spot in round four
after getting a flat tire
|
Vernola fell out of the second race after a crash:
“I was going through the U-turn into the freestyle
jump. Some of the girls got caught up. I tried
to check up and unfortunately I got hit from behind.
I broke a CV boot and an axle. I’ll be ready for
Round 5. I’m not going anywhere!”
|
K&N's
Katie Vernola suffered a mechanical issue
in round four, which took her out of the
race
|
Price leads the title chase by 16 points ahead
of Anderson going into Rounds 5 and 6 of the TerraCross
Championship, which is being rescheduled to a
new location and date to be announced in the near
future.
