Nocona, TX - Round four of the
2011 TQRA series saw Can-Am’s Chase Snapp
sweep both the Expert and Pro-am classes to top
the podium, with Johnny Hale coming on strong
to take second in both classes behind Snapp.
Track conditions at Nocona MX were good to
start the day, and the weather was typical for
Texas, with sunny skies and warm temps. The
sandy soil of the track did get quite rough
and single lined as the day wore on, but it
didn’t seem to bother Chase Snapp, who
was on a mission to top the podium.

Just a few weeks after Oak Hill was rained

conditions at the Nocona MX track for

In the first Expert moto, Snapp was in second
off the start and battled it out with Johnny
Hale, who was in the lead. After a couple of
laps, Snapp was able to make the pass on Hale
and take over the lead. Once out front, Snapp
pulled away and finished several seconds ahead
of the rest of the pack.

#48 Chase Snapp jumped out to an early
lead in both Motos & remained unchallenged
to the checkered flag for a 1-1 finish
in the Open Expert Class |
In the second Expert moto, Snapp grabbed the
holeshot and checked out. Snapp led from start
to finish and crossed the finish line with a
ten second lead. “This track reminded
me of Sunset Ridge, so I guess I got in some
good practice for this one in Illinois,”
said Snapp.
Johnny Hale made the switch back to Honda and
fared well as he grabbed the Expert moto one
holeshot. Despite his excellent start, Hale
was not alone as Chase Snapp was right there
to apply the pressure. Hale held off Snapp for
a couple of laps before Snapp got by. Hale stayed
close but was unable to reclaim the lead and
would finish in second place.

#116 Johnny Hale was all alone in the
2nd spot in Moto One, but in second Moto,
#90 Hunter Miller was applying the pressure
for nearly the entire moto. Hale was up
to the challenge as held off Miller's
attack to claim the 2nd spot once again |
In the second moto, Hale was in second off
the start and battled with Hunter Miller for
the entire moto. Hale stayed the course and
held off the number 90 Can-Am to claim a second
place finish, giving him second overall for
the day. “Getting a good start was really
important for this round because the track was
so one-lined. It was really hard to pass, but
it was still a good race and I am happy to be
on the podium,” said Hale.
