WORCS Racing - Round
9 - Speed World MX - Pro ATV Race Report
::Continued::
“I am so happy! Everyone has helped me
a lot. It has been a long year and I have to say
thanks to everyone. Today was great for me. I
got a good start and I just tried to ride my best.
I have been training hard and trying to do my
best and I finally got a championship and I am
very, very happy!” stated Warnia.

Within
an hour after the podium celebration, Jeremie
Warnia's DS450 was sporting the #1 plate,
which prompted a kiss from Jeremie Warnia
before we heading out on the track for some
photos of the 2011 WORCS Pro ATV Champion,
#1 Jeremie Warnia, but it remains up in
the air if the French racer will return
for 2012 to defend his championship as Warnia
may return to France to contend for the
European Quadcross Championship |
“It feels great to be able to take two
championships this year. Jeremie and Josh did
an excellent job this year. We are really excited
and really want to prove to everyone that the
DS450 is a durable and reliable machine and we
will win on it,” said Motoworks team owner,
Johnny Leach.

Bell
Helmet's #1 Josh Frederick had his work
cut out for him right out of the gate with
a mid-pack start, which had Frederick eating
mud most of the race as he charged his way
through the pack, and by the checkered flag,
Frederick held the third spot just ahead
of #422 David Haagsma, but it wasn't enough
to hold onto the #1 plate for 2012 |

The
3-Time WORCS Pro ATV Champion, Josh Frederick,
gave an emotional speech at the Awards Ceremony
as he celebrated his 2nd place finish with
his family |
Can-Am/Motoworks’ Josh Frederick wasn’t
about to let his current championship status slip
away even after a less than desirable start, he
began to move forward after the five lap mark. Frederick
put the hammer down and worked his way into third
place by lap six. “The start was everything
today and I just didn’t get the start I needed.
I was able to get up to third, but then I wasn’t
able to close that gap after that,” Frederick
explained.
Frederick was still holding down the number three
spot going into lap eight, but the wet and muddy
conditions had already taken their toll on him
and he was not able to overtake Warnia. “I
went out there and gave it everything I had and
finished on the podium. It’s not exactly
where I wanted to be, but I am ok with it. I am
disappointed I didn’t get the championship,
but I am really happy for Jeremie and him winning
the championship is good for our team,”
said Frederick.
