WORCS Racing Pro-Am Race Report
::Continued::

In the WORCS Racing Pro-Am class, Pro Motorsports’ Matt Hancock got off to a decent start and was able charge his way into the lead early on. Once in the lead, Hancock was able to maintain it all the way to the finish, grabbing his first ever WORCS Pro-Am victory. With Hancock’s win he was able to close the gap on series points leader Mike Sloan down to just three points, heading into the last three rounds of the 2014 Season.

Matt Hancock earned his first Pro-Am Win at WORCS Round 6

“I’ve been waiting for this for along time.  During the summer break I’ve been training really hard, trying to push myself to do what I know I can do. I was third off the line, I moved into first leaving the logs and put my head down going into the off-road because I knew I needed to push the whole time to keep ahead of David Flores and Mike Sloan because they push so hard the whole race. I’m pretty beat but glad to get the win,” said Hancock

Lonestar Racing’s David Flores, after suffering from mechanical issues the past two rounds, was able to put his Honda 450R back on the podium at Iron Mine Race Park.  Despite a mid pack start and some bearing issues, Flores was able to battle his way through the pack, ultimately finishing in the second spot ahead of Mike Sloan.

Lady Luck was finally on David Flores' side as he finished second in the Pro-Am Class after suffering from mechanical issues the last two rounds

“I don’t know what was going on at the start, my bike was bogging, but I just started going through the pack. I made it into second and I think my bearing carrier blew or something blew cause it locked up, which put me back to forth, but I got it freed up and started going. I caught up to Ryan (Waldo) in third and passed him on the straight, then I caught Mike Sloan and also passed him on the straight, it was a great weekend.” said Flores

STI’s Mike Sloan rounded out the Pro-Am podium with a third place finish for the day. Coming into this round, Sloan held an eight point lead over Matt Hancock in the Pro-Am series standings.
