WORCS SxS / UTV Racing Round 4 Race Report

Piplic eventually crossed the finish line in second place, which was enough for him to take over the WORCS SxS Pro class points lead by one point over Mitch Guthrie Jr with his third podium finish. “It’s super exciting to get my sponsors up there in the number one spot, and hopefully we can keep them there all season long,” said Piplic.

Polaris/Walker Evan’s RJ Anderson grabbed the holeshot and led for a couple of laps. Anderson was pulling away in the lead, but he accidentally switched his vehicle to 2WD somehow and thought he broke the front differential. “I must have bumped something, and it put me in two wheel drive, and I thought I broke my front diff. My switch is mounted where I can’t see it, so I didn’t realize it right away. I was finally able to get it back in four wheel drive, but I ran out of time and took third,” said Anderson.

Mystic Lubricant’s Mickey Thomas had a tough race but managed to come away with a fourth place finish. “It was definitely a rough race. I rolled over once and there was a lot of traffic to get by after I flipped and I had to work my way up from dead last, but I just pushed hard and finished fourth. I think maybe next time we will be on the box,” said Thomas.

HCR Racing’s Jeff Obering had a good race in the WORCS Pro SXS class and rounded out the top five. “This course is a lot more technical than some of the other tracks we race on. They did do some grooming for the pro race, so it was better than some of the other classes, but it is still a tough course. We came away with fifth place, and I am pretty happy with that,” said Obering.

Walker Evan Racing’s Tim Wyatt came from a mid-pack start and finished in sixth place while Can-Am’ Matt Hancock finished seventh and Cody Bradbury finished eighth. H&M Motorsports’ Beau Baron, had a tough weekend. Baron crashed during ATV practice on Friday when his axle broke, and he injured his shoulder, so he and was mainly out to salvage points in the SxS Pro class. H&M Motorsport’s David Haagsma also encountered issues and only completed two laps, which cost him the points lead after claiming podium finishes the first three rounds of the season.
