WORCS SxS Pro Race Report - Sand Hollow
::Continued::

Sparks Racing’s David Haagsma’s third-place finish, combined with Thomas’ DNF, helped him in the points race. Haagsma arrived at the venue early on race day and missed the Friday practice session, which held him back early in the race from pushing it since he didn’t know the course.

“We made up a lot of points in the championship,” said Haagsma. “I wasn’t able to make the practice so on the first lap I was really timid. I went from third to seventh. The suspension was a little soft. Missing practice really put me at a disadvantage, but to finish on the podium after arriving here at 1 a.m. today is great. I like the next couple of tracks, so hopefully we get a chance at the championship.”

Piplic got the raw end of the final-lap sprint, but still rebounded to finish fourth. “It was no holds barred; nobody was making friends on that last lap,” said Piplic. “I’m happy with the finish, but I really wanted the win at this track. It’s my favorite track.”

Millscox Motorsports' Keith Johnson secured his second top five finish of the season, which now has him tied with his brother-in-law, Ryan Piplic, for seventh in the points championship.

CST Tire's Beau Baron once again finished in the sixth spot after dealing with mechanical issues, which slowed his charge, but he remains in the championship race in the second spot just five points behind Bradbury, and he is three points ahead of Mickey Thomas who suffered a DNF and dropped out of the lead.
