Jorie
Williams lost his goggles early in the race,
and with his face covered in mud, he was
finished for the day. On the bright side,
he finished 2nd Pro Production

Ryan
Piplic finally breaks the Top 10 in the
Pro Class with 8th place finish on the KFX450
along with a 4th Place finish in Pro Production
Class |
However, Eichner’s lead would not last. Half-way
through the race, Doug got hung up behind a lapper
in the knarly log section of the track. “He
got stuck right in front of me, and I lost momentum
and got hung up myself.” Stated Eichner. “Frederick
was far back enough that he was able to take a different
line and get around. There was about three laps
left to go, but I lost too much time and couldn’t
catch him.”
Eichner placed second behind Frederick who, along
with Epic Racing teammate Jeremy Schell, was making
a very strong first impression on the new Can-Am
DS450. While Frederick snagged his sixth win of
the series, teammate Schell took third on the
podium.“The DS did really well. It handled
the track great and ran really strong.”
Stated Frederick. “This is the first time
I got to race it and even though we were running
stock machines, it did great!” He exclaimed.

Robbie Mitchell has been on the move the
last few rounds improving each race with
a 6th, 5th, and finally a season best 4th
place finish

#2
Josh Frederick secures his 6th Win of the
season and 1st ever on a Can-AM DS450 in
its debut as he extends his points lead
to 57 points over Eichner |
Yet another “first time” happening
for the weekend was when Tammy Balser from Port
Angeles, WA stepped up from the Women’s
A class to the Production A class for this race.
She did so well that she ended up being the first
female to ever qualify for the Pro-Am main event.
Tammy was just as impressive in the Pro-am class
placing 11th out of 17.

Curtis L. McNitt Jr. from Sublimity, OR took
the first position on the podium in the Pro-am
class, with Dax Snow and Bronson Bundy, both hailing
from Washington, UT filling 2nd and 3rd place
on the podium. Joel Garlinghouse from Olympia,
WA came in 4th and Dillon Zimmerman from Socorro,
NM rounded out the top five.
Round 8 of the WORCS series will be held at Monticello,
UT on September 7-9, which should prove to be
an interesting race as well. The elevation in
Monticello is just over 7000 feet, and the last
two years in a row, the weather has been a challenge
to say the least. In addition, with only three
races left in the series, and over a 50 point
spread, the battle for first place will be heating
up between Eichner and Frederick as Josh tries
to hold on to his points lead for his first WORCS
Championship.
