Valcourt, Québec (7/18/2016) - Can-Am strengthens its reign as the industry’s foremost specialty mud vehicle manufacturer with the expansion of the factory-built X mr family of Can-Am off-road vehicles for 2017. The arrival of the flagship Maverick MAX X mr 1000R side-by-side vehicle and the affordable Renegade X mr 570 ATV means more available choices for consumers and a much deeper X mr lineup.

The radical Can-Am X mr family now consists of six ATVs and two side-by-side vehicles. Four Outlander X mr ATVs, two mud-ready Renegade ATVs and two Maverick side-by-side vehicles give Can-Am the most talented and most powerful factory-equipped mud vehicles in the industry.

For 2017, all Can-Am ATVs and side-by-side vehicles also require zero break-in maintenance required and a yearly advised maintenance schedule of 932 miles (1,500 km). All Can-Am vehicles offer a centralized maintenance area with easier access and improved protection from the elements.

BRP added to its industry leading Can-Am X mr family of purpose-built mud vehicles with the introduction of the new four-passenger, family-friendly Can-Am Maverick MAX X mr 1000R side-by-side vehicle. Like the shorter two-seat Maverick X mr 1000R unit, the MAX X mr 1000R package is powered by the potent 101-horsepower, 976cc Rotax 1000R V-Twin and outfitted in an exclusive X-package setup and Hyper Silver, Black and Octane Blue color scheme.

The Maverick MAX platform has an additional 29.5-inch (75 cm) wheelbase to accommodate two rear passengers and provide a better footprint. It also includes individual handholds for all passengers and stadium-style seating. The new Maverick MAX X mr 1000R received several key features for 2017, including the durable CVT with Quick-Response System (QRS). Technologies borrowed from the Maverick Turbo units, like the new FOX 2.5 Podium QS3 shocks, front sway bar, custom wheels and a first-rate fit-and-finish, were also added t the four-seat Maverick MAX X mr 1000R.

The Can-Am Maverick X mr 1000R, the industry’s most intimidating two-seat, mud-riding side-by-side vehicle, is powered by the potent 101-horsepower, 976cc Rotax 1000R V-Twin. The two-seat Maverick X mr vehicle has a shorter wheelbase, but all the same proven factory-installed, mud-ready parts as the larger MAX X mr package. For 2017, the Maverick X mr 1000R side-by-side vehicle has the CVT with Quick-Response System (QRS) and technologies borrowed from the Maverick Turbo units, all-new FOX 2.5 Podium QS3 shocks, a front sway bar and comes in two color schemes.

Sitting atop the Can-Am Outlander X mr family, is the largest and most distinguished mud-ready ATV in the industry. An industry-leading 89-horsepower 976cc Rotax V-twin engine powers the flagship Outlander X mr, which has a 59-inch wheelbase. New for 2017 is a Triple Black finish, FOX 1.5 Podium QS3 piggyback shocks, 14-inch (35.6 cm) aluminum wheels and a Radio Frequency D.E.S.S. system.

The 2017 Can-Am Outlander X mr 850 ATV shares several attributes with its larger-bore sibling, yet also has a few noticeable differences like a shorter wheelbase, FOX HPG shocks and a square gauge package. However, the X mr 850 ATV also features class-dominating performance from its 78-hp Rotax 850 V-Twin liquid-cooled engine. It received the Radio Frequency D.E.S.S. and new and 14-inch aluminum wheels for 2017.

The Outlander X mr 650 ATV is designed around the one-up Outlander SST G2 chassis, like the Outlander X mr 850. Its Rotax 650 V-twin engine also produces 62 horsepower, which easily beats the 700cc competitors in its class. Along with a lower price point, the X mr 650 ATV has its own tire-and-wheel package.

The imposing Renegade X mr 1000R ATV borrows technologies from its sibling ATVs (smaller chassis, mud-specific CVT, etc.), but brings its own head-turning appeal and unique performance to mud riding. The brash Renegade X mr 1000R is appropriately outfitted for functional and dominating performance in the nastiest of mud, but also captivates a crowd with its highly attractive appearance. Its segment-leading 89-hp Rotax V-Twin entertains on the trail and in the muck and its new FOX 1.5 Podium QS3 piggyback shocks are simple to adjust and maintain a smooth, predictable ride.

Can-Am recently unveiled the new Renegade X mr 570 ATV in early June. The budget-friendly 4x4 starts with class-leading performance (48-hp Rotax V-Twin) and the base platform of the Renegade 570 and builds upon that by adding an iconic appearance (borrowed from the larger Renegade X mr 1000R ATV), FOX HPG shocks and extra mud-specific components straight from the factory. The end result is an affordable, mud-ready ATV with an unmistakable look and outstanding fit-and-finish.
