Beau Baron Interview: 2008 WORCS Series Pro ATV Racer - Cont.

ATVriders.com: Have you had a chance to see any of the WORCS Series Races on the MAN (Maximum Adventure Network) on satellite TV?
Beau Baron: Yeah, those guys (especially because there are only two of them!) do an awesome job. I like the approach they take to getting the entire track and all of the riders in the footage. It is not just a constant view of the leaders. I just wish it could be on regular cable because I have to really look for somewhere with that channel to watch it.

ATVriders.com: How has the Suzuki LTR-450 been working for you?
Beau Baron: It is a good quad, I can’t possibly complain because it has lasted. I can only hope that if I continue to take care of it, I will finish the season on it. With that said, I still have to say that I just had the opportunity to ride someone else’s quad (that is maintained by a team) and it is almost not fair. That other quad is so much faster and I just hope that I get to race one soon. It is a good thing that power isn’t everything in these races, but it sure would make things a little easier out there.

ATVriders.com: Do you ride and train much outside of the WORCS Series races?
Beau Baron: I try to ride as much as I can. There are not a lot of places to ride close to my house, and the tracks that are close don’t like to have ATVs on them so I have to make do with what I have as far as finding places to practice, otherwise I have to travel. Other than riding, I just try to eat right and stay in shape.

ATVriders.com: At the start of the WORCS race season, no one really knew the name Beau Baron, but not you are 3rd in the Points race, which just one round to go as a privateer, which has inspired a lot of other racers, and how have you been able to achieve so much success in just your first year of racing ATVs?
Beau Baron: Thanks. I am thankful that I have been able to do what I have so far I just hope it all continues. My advice to other privateers is to just keep going. Work hard. Hopefully the riders that put in the most effort will eventually be recognized and rise to the top. I have to give that advice to myself too, because I am still a privateer!

ATVriders.com: Do you have anyone that’s been inspirational and motivational to you and your success this year?
Beau Baron: The fans I have acquired this year have been awesome and very helpful with their support. I have met a lot of people who really want to see me do well and they do whatever they can to help with my pit-stops and getting set up for the races. But mostly I have to say my family. They have always been my biggest cheering section. My parents, and grandparents have always been my biggest source of support, I definitely wouldn’t be where I am today without them.

ATVriders.com: Any plans for 2009 season yet?
Beau Baron: Not yet, I wish I had. I am definitely planning on doing the ATV WORCS again.
Nothing has been set in stone as far as on what brand of bike I will be on or who I will be riding for. I just hope I will be able to say that I am not a privateer in 2009.

ATVriders.com: Is there any sponsors you would like to thank?
Mark with Holz Racing has really helped me a lot in the past few weeks.
Mike Cafro has too. They are both trying hard to get things going for me.
