(2/22/2014) - We recently did a photo
shoot with Yamaha’s Chad Wienen down in Florida
at PAX motocross track, which is where Chad
Wienen has spent most of his winter training
for the start of the 2014 AMA Pro ATV Motocross
Series next month. After winning two straight
motocross championships on a Yamaha YFZ 450R,
Chad Wienen has kept his championship winning
combination nearly the same as last year besides
adding Pro-Am racer, Nick Gennusa to the Wienen
Motorsports Team for 2014.
One things has changed in Florida, and that is dwindling number of places for ATV racers to train during the winter with many tracks closing their doors to ATV riders, so for 2014, Chad Wienen hooked up GNCC Racing Champion, Chris Borich, to train in the Daytona Beach area, and they spend most of their time riding at PAX motocross track, which is a quad friendly motocross track in Florida. Besides just riding motos, Chad Wienen and the rest of the crew training with Chris Borich have been doing plenty of cross training in preparation for the start of the racing season.
Since the final race of the 2013, Chad Wienen has been keeping busy, which included getting married, so after he was finished doing some motos at PAX, we sat down with Wienen and asked him a few questions about his upcoming goals, team plans, and married life.
ATVriders.com: How is it being a newlywed?
Chad
Wienen: It's great, I tell everybody there's not much that has changed because we have been together for so long. It's kind of crazy that you can find somebody that you can put up with day in and day out and not drive you crazy. Danica is the girl that bonds well with me and I love it. She's definitely my better half and she puts up with what I do. This is a lifestyle that not many people can do including women and she puts up with everything that I do, the good and the bad, and she stands by me.

ATVriders.com: How is it riding here at PAX Motocross Track?
Chad
Wienen: PAX is good it's been wet prior to this, but now we are starting to get some beautiful weather, and the track gets gnarly. There's a lot of big bumps and it tests us every day.

ATVriders.com: What brought you down to Chris Borich's for riding and training?
Chad
Wienen: There is a great group of guys over there. They want to train hard and that's what I do. I think we push off of each other. Nobody wants to give an inch to each other and it's a constant battle every single day. I'm not afraid to try new things, I go out and ride woods with them just for fun, and they come out and ride moto all the time, so we are just having fun and really enjoying the off season.
