(2/20/2014) - Five Time GNCC Racing
Champion, Chris Borich, spends the winter months
training at his home in Florida to prepare for
the start of the 2014 GNCC racing season. Chris
Borich and the two time AMA Motocross Champion,
Chad Wienen, teamed up this year for some offseason
training. Chris Borich and Chad Wienen spends
several days a week training at PAX motocross
track near Daytona Beach, Florida. We recently
caught up with Chris Borich, while he was putting
in some motos on a nearly stock Suzuki LTR 450
at PAX Motocross Track.
ATVriders.com: How has training been this winter?
Chris Borich: It's been good, we are finally getting some good weather down here the past couple of weeks. We have been getting in a bunch of time doing some running and road biking and also putting our laps in at the tracks.
ATVriders.com: How has it been training with Chad Wienen?
Chris Borich: It's good. He's just as motivated as I am, so it's kind of cool. We both want to win and want championships. When I'm slowing down, he is pushing me, I get a gasp of air and push right with him, and when he's down, he pushes with me. It's always good to have somebody that's right there with you and wants it as bad as you do.

ATVriders.com: How is your race program this year, and is it similar to 2013?
Chris Borich: Yeah it looks like we will be on Suzuki again. We picked up Amsoil again and Maxxis Tires has been behind me too. Glenn Schlude with ATV Innovations is going to be back with again this year working on my motors and prepping the bike for the nationals, so it looks like it's going to be about the same program as last year because when things are working, you just want to keep what you have going.

ATVriders.com: Have you been hitting many of the Florida Trail Rider races this year?
Chris Borich: I haven’t hit too many races this year because you have to get up so early and sit around all day waiting to race, but I hit one of them and I ended up winning that, and I felt really good. It was a short race, but the endurance is there, and usually at the end of the race, I really turn it on, so it was good.

ATVriders.com: Are you looking forward to season starting in a couple of weeks?
Chris Borich: Yeah definitely. Time flew by and I am really looking forward to it. Just ready to get the ball rolling.
Chris Borich will be racing the first round of the GNCC Series at Mud Muckers in Bunnell, FL on March 8-9. Good luck to Borich as he prepares to defend his title and attempts to capture his sixth consecutive championship.
