Interview:
Taylor Kiser - GNCC Yamaha YFZ450 Pro ATV Racer
- Continued
ATVriders.com:
Have
you had a chance to ride the new YFZ450R?
Taylor
Kiser:
Yeah,
I put some time on it, and it is a really
nice ATV with a great power and handling
ATVriders.com:
Do
you plan on racing the YFZ450 or the YFZ450R?
Taylor
Kiser:
Being
a privateer, I am going to stay on the proven
YFZ450 until atleast the first half of the
season while the new YFZ450R is dialed in
and proven on the race track, but I know that
Bill Balance, Brandon Sommers, Traci Cecco,
and Johnny Gallagher will all be racing the
new YFZ450R at the start of the GNCC season.

Kiser picked up his first YFZ450 for
the 2009 season, and has already started
racing it in the Florida
Trail Riders Series as he prepares
for the start of the 2009 GNCC season
opener in Florida on March 1st

ATVriders.com:

winter?

Yes,

ATVriders.com:
Speaking of being faster, it seems that everyone
is training harder and trying to pick up more
speed. How do you feel about the competition
for the 2009 season?
Taylor
Kiser: I
think the competition will be really good. Everyone
out there is getting faster for sure. There
should be at least six or seven guys out there
that are all capable of taking the win, so I
think it will be as fierce as ever. I’m
really stoked to get out there!
ATVriders.com:
Have you stepped up your training as well?
Taylor
Kiser: Yes,
I have. I’m hitting the gym two to three
times a week and riding two to four times
a week. Basically, I’m doing some sort
of training every day.
ATVriders.com:
Who is going to be your mechanic for the 2009
season?
Taylor
Kiser: I
will be my own mechanic. I really don’t
trust anyone other than myself to work on
my bikes and also that way if anything goes
wrong, I don’t have anyone to blame
but me.
ATVriders.com:
Does that mean you’ll be building your
own motors as well?
Taylor
Kiser: Yes,
I’ll also be building the engines myself.
GT Thunder and Baldwin Racing will be helping
me out with parts for that, but I will be
doing the work myself.
ATVriders.com:
Who else is helping you out this year?
Taylor
Kiser: Besides,
Yamaha, GT Thunder and Baldwin, my biggest
support will be coming from Mike Kiser Welding,
Raber, Inc., Ohlins and Houser.
ATVriders.com:
Will you be doing any other races besides
the GNCC this year?
Taylor
Kiser: I’ll
be hitting a lot of local races down here
in Florida and I’d also like to try
a WORCS race or two if I can.
ATVriders.com:
What are your goals for this season?
Taylor
Kiser: I
have one goal and that is to win the GNCC
championship!
ATVriders.com:
Thanks for talking to us today Taylor and
good luck this season!
Taylor
Kiser: Thank
you!
