Thanks for the great review. I have a '05 Kodiak and am in the market for some aftermarket tires. I was looking at the Bighorns and also Kenda BearClaws. (both new and old style.) Anyone have any experience with these?

The new bearclaws barely look any better than the stock tires! What an improvement.

BTW, I just ordered my Bighorns....25's.:D

BTW, I was at a local obstacle course/ mud bog tonight, and a guy was there with a P700 w/ Bighorns on it. I couldn't believe how fast he came through that Mud Bog!!! :eek2: :eek2: :eek2:

I do more trail riding with my Kodiak than mud running. I need a stiffer side wall than the stock tires. How do the Bighorns perform in these conditions on hard packed trails. I also do a lot of boondocking off of the trail.

What is the best price you have seen the bighorns for and where?

the bighorns are an awesome tire for anythging you throw at them. They are all I run anymore in racing paractice or leisure. Youi won't go wrong with them. By the way, "What the heck is boondocking?"

:p I wondered about that term myself....I'm taking it that he means exploring where there are no trails...

I got my Bighorns on the way, 25's!:macho

Boondocking comes from mountain snowmobiling. You shoot up the mountain and see who can make it up the highest without getting stuck or bogging down.

I guess maxxis bighorns would be great for that. Thanks for the education.

Boondocking is off trail riding when snowmobiling. And yes it is like stated above, exploring.

Highmarking is hill climbing and trying to make it up the face of the mountain bowl higher than anyone else or all the way to the top.

I ussualy ride dirt trails and some mud. So I shouldn't run into too much clay. Hopefully.

I heard they are no good on smooth ice either, unless you stud them! :p

No tire will excel everywhere. I was on wet large flat rocks today going uphill, and was worried about traction, until the front end was powered off of the ground, then I knew the Bighorns were doing the job!!!

I guess anytire is better then stock.

I am going to buy a 4x4 this winter and build it for the stock utility class racing this 07 Season at my local district. But I don't have the money to have a race quad and a play quad. So I am trying to get a good race tire and a good play tire for the mud and trails.

I love my Bighorns! They're not the best for mudbogging, but for anything else they're awesome. Especially rocky terrain. I've got 700 mi on mine so far with alot of that being paved road. The fronts still look new and the rear are rounding a little, but nothing major. They're by far the toughest tire I've ever owned.
