View Full Version : Outlaws or Vampire EDLs?

I'm getting new tires for the rhino. My ITP 589s had 22 punctures on a 2 day trip and i'm fed up with this happening continually. I'll be putting them on new wheels, most likely beadlocks. i'll be riding some pretty rough, rocky trails that are often pretty muddy- especially in the fall and winter.
My buddy has the 29.5" outlaws on his polaris 700 and they can tear some nasty terrain up. I've seen the Vampire EDLs in magazines but it just seems like a 2.5" lug would want to tear on a sharp rock or something.
Anyone have experience with either of these tires? I'll be getting 27s or 28s, and cost is not a factor.
Thanks!

Outlaws all the way for the mud. Mudzillas are real good and they want wear/ or tear anything up like the outlaws.

ive ridden with 300`s set up just like mine with edl`s - i love em , theyre a skinnier tire so theyre a LIL easier on the differentials ( we all know how "leak proof/strong" those are heh)
28x10 vampires are a VERY tough tire , i prefer them over my outlaws i ran ... i broke cv`s with 25 inch vampires and i broke cv`s with 28x12.5 outlaws , tire size aint really what breaks them , its the rider. BUT , if your thinking of running EDL`S on a HEAVY bike i wouldnt do it . they dig down to get traction and just wont stop with all that extra weight on them, vamps clean very well
the skinnier sized `laws seem to dig but still have the lug pattern that paddles pretty nice...but the wide tires will float like crazy and be harder on bearings/ball joints , and its very hard to get stuck lol , laws will clog up tho in the good stuff - on a rhino , id only run skinny sizes, my bud runs 29.5x10`s on the highlifter blue rhino he bought and has had transmission trouble trouble... it does better with the edl`s (he doesnt mud it hardcore tho)
feel free to ask any more q`s ill try to help if i can

You should think about the outlaw mst's. They are more of an all-terrain tire.
