I have a set of turf tamers on my 400, and do not like them. they still have a lot of tread left, and i want to run them till they wear more. and i was thinking of cutting out a few knobs. what would be the cheapest way, and is also fairly easy, to cut out the knobs?

I used a pair of knippers they are like side cuts lot of time used for hoof trimming. One cut and get right in there easy as cake.
they make tire groovers its electric and it heats up a bit and has a sharp blade to just go through the tread

i know about those, but i am not sure on prices of those. and this will not be done often, so i am looking for a way to do it with tools around the house. i havent tried anything everyone else has suggested, but thanks to all that have.

Get a large knife, leather gloves and a torch. Torch the knife blade hot, then cut through the tread.

Or... got to Tractor Supply or any store with equine (horse) supplies and get a Horse Hoof Nipper.
