What is everyone using for oil in there 400ex?

amsoil 10w-40 synthetic for 4 stroke powersports

Right now I am using the Mobil One red label 15w-50.

I am thinking about switching to the Mobil One 10w-40 4T Racing oil. It is a few dollars more per quart, but I think it is worth a shot.

How often is everyone changing theirs? Just picked up my 400 the other day. I am ordering a manual for it tomorrow. Just wanted to change the oil before I ride to much.

i change oil every 2 months or so and havn't had any problems as long as its the right color i keep going

Ok, I always had good luck with amsoil so I will go get some from the Honda shop tomorrow. Should I look at getting 10-40 rather then 15-40 because its starting to cool off in Northern Michigan?

I run Honda HP4 10w40. I am changing it about every 2 months as well, I just keep an eye on it after every ride and make sure it still looks clean.

mobile one 10w40 for me,it works ok, i try to change it once a month at least if i ride alot. steve
