Jeffrey Rastrelli’s ATV Motocross Championship Race Report

Echeconnee MX played host for this round and presented a rough, technical track with sandy soil that broke down easily. Jeffrey Rastrelli was ready for the challenge, and showed that all of his training over the winter, had paid off.

When the gate dropped in the first moto, Rastrelli was outside of the top five and worked his way through traffic to into third place. Rastrelli came under fire shortly after taking over third, but held off the attack and finished out moto one with a third place finish.

In the second moto, Rastrelli once again worked his way up into the third spot after a mid-pack start. “I was in about eighth off the start, and I made it up to third and caught second place. I made a charge in the final lap to try and get him, but it didn’t work. Overall I am happy with how my motos went. My fitness is good, and I still had enough left to make a charge at the end, which is pretty good since this track was so rough. Also, some of my fastest lap times were toward the end of the motos,” said Rastrelli.

Rastrelli’s third place finishes in each moto secured him the final spot on the Pro Podium with third overall.  “This is my second career podium and there is no feeling like it. Everything started coming together last season when I got on the podium at Unadilla, and I am really happy to keep it rolling this season.  I think my JB suspension and PEP Shocks really helped a lot out there. We knew it would be rough and we made some adjustments and it worked great for us. My ITP Tires hooked up great and my BCS motor pulled me through it,” said Rastrelli.

“I have a great program in place for this season, and I can’t wait until the next round. We are heading to Texas, and I love that track. It has big jumps, and it’s kind of sandy but has hard pack too. It’s going to be a battle, but I am really looking forward to it,” Rastrelli added.
