                                St. Cloud, MN (11/3/2009) -Freestyle
is so ingrained in our minds these days that seeing
it is pretty common. You hear it advertised on the
radio and television for shows almost every weekend.
Now when you throw the ATV freestylers out there,
you may have never even heard of them. They do exist
with Akraix and the Bomb Squad leading the way,
and while they don’t get top billing like
their bike riding counterparts, they are both trying
to change that by doing shows and competitions worldwide!

                                  | Akraix
is one of the companies leading the way
in ATV Freestyle | Recently, we had a chance to spend some time
with Akraix, Derek and Jon Guetter, as they traveled
to the east coast to perform at Fisher ATV World
Reunion event held at the Rock Run riding area
in Pennsylvania. These high flying, trick pulling,
ATV freestyle shredding band of brothers have
slowly been building on one success after another.
Lead by the back flipping pioneer Jon Guetter,
the ramp shredding brothers have been at the forefront
of ATV freestyle for many years. The youngest
brother Derek has all the skills down and will
soon be flipping his ATV to dirt as he joins his
brother and a scant handful of riders in the world
                                to back flip an ATV.

makes a big entry for an ATV freestyle
show in Europe (left) and Derek Quetter
riding his Akraix Can-Am DS450 at Breezewood
Proving Grounds (right) | Capturing all of the action and getting things
rolling on the DVD front, is yet another brother
that forms this trio of talent and that would
be Dan. An accomplished videographer, Dan set
out with his kin to produce videos of the antics
and two feature DVDs have so far made it to the
masses and have been well received by fans on
                                a global scale.

                                  | When
the crew, all two of them, pack up the ramp
and head out on the road, it comes down
to team work | Being an ATV freestyle riders, one would expect
the gritty persona usually associated with the
lifestyle that lives on the edge and beyond. Not
so true when you are speaking with these guys
who are very family oriented and raised on a farm
in the upper mid-west. This quiet country boy
charm may have been just what was needed as they
landed bigger sponsors and it surely helps when
they are dealing with fans that attend events
that range from county fairs, stadium events in
association with the Monster Truck shows and as
of late, their own amateur ATV freestyle show
put on by Akraix to promote the sport and themselves
and bring attention to amateur quad riders from
                                all over the country.
Of course doing shows only covers so much of
the expense associated with running a team and
business and the boys have landed a gem of a sponsor
when they rolled out with Can Am/BRP backing.
The sleek DS450 Sport ATV would serve as a platform
for the model to be shown to hundreds of thousands
of fans each year and be forever captured in the
hours of video and in countless photographs of
                                them in action.

Guetter Back -flipping at an Austrailian
ATV Freestyle show | Now one would expect good words and high praise
for their main sponsor but if you get a chance
to talk with them away from the fan fare, you
will quickly see that if they did not trust the
machine or believe it can be one that sits their
needs, they wouldn’t be riding it. Being
35 feet in the air and hanging off the handlebars
by your feet one would think the machine below
them wouldn’t matter but that was an interesting
thing I discovered in that it most definitely
matters especially when your several hundred miles
from the nearest dealer and you need that atv
to run and run well and hold up to the brutality
they suffer from the massive hits from hitting
                                a ramp.
