Bryce Canyon Rally

Bryce Canyon ATV & SxS Rally
::Continued::

We got a chance to participate in the blind driving and we also drag raced the 2014 Polaris RZR XP 1000 SxS which everyone was anxious to see.

The blind driving event is just like it sounds – the driver is blindfolded and the passenger has to give directions around an obstacle course made up of one jump, cones, and spare tires. The event takes place in a fenced in arena for safety.

"The blind driving event was one of the most unique experienced I have ever done driving a SxS. It was like driving in complete darkness. The only thing I could hear was Scott (McFarland) giving me directions... that is until we stopped and all I could hear was laughter coming from the grand stands!"

This was one of the most fun events we have participated in and our on staff test driver Jeff M. Vanasdal and co-pilot Scott McFarland (owner of High Point ATV and Hummer Rentals) had the crowd on their feet and nearly in tears from laughing so hard as they ran over every obstacle on the course!

Polaris RZR XP 1000 SxS Drag Race
The all-new 2014 Polaris RZR XP 1000 attracted pletny of attention at 2013 Bryce Canyon ATV Rally with it just hitting the dealers that weekend

After the hysterical Blind Driving event it was time to head to the drag strip. With the 2014 Polaris RZR XP 1000 SxS / UTV not even available to the public yet, the unit drew in quite a crowd to see us race it against its predecessor - the Polaris RZR XP 900.  Best in the Desert Truck driver Scott McFarland was behind the wheel for this event as he shot off the line with 107 horsepower finishing several SxS lengths ahead of the Polaris RZR XP 900.

The Polaris RZR XP 1000 SxS finished several SxS lengths ahead of it predecessor the Polaris RZR XP 900 SxS.

Once the drag races wrapped up it was time to head in for some much needed rest at the Knights Inn which is located right next to the County Fair Grounds where the Bryce Canyon ATV and SxS Rally is hosted. In addition to the Knights Inn hotel there are many other places to stay near the venue. Some other places stay are the Hitch-N-Post Camp Ground, Lamplighter Lodge, and the Bryce Canyon Motel just to name a few.

Terry O'Dell from Visalia, California was the lucky winner of the Arctic Cat 500 Utility and was very surprised to have won such a great prize!

“This was my first ATV rally but it certainly won't be my last! I think I am still in shock because I never win anything!” Terry O’Dell stated on the Bryce Canyon ATV Rally Facebook Page

We were pretty impressed with the 2013 Bryce Canyon ATV and SxS Rally. The entire event was well organized and we felt very welcome among the family like atmosphere. The beautiful scenery and what seems like endless amount of trails make the Rally even more memorable and we are sure the event will continue to grow even more each year!
