Paunsaugunt Plateau ATV Trail Ride Adventure

Paunsaugunt Plateau Trail Ride ATV Adventure
::Continued::

The Ruby’s ATV Tours offers several different vehicle types with a fleet of Arctic Cat 500 2-Up Utility ATVs along with several different Polaris Ranger SxS / UTV models to choose from including the 2-seater Ranger 500 and the Ranger Crews that hold up to 6 passengers.  There are ride times available throughout the day, but you should make reservations at least 20 minutes before your planned ride time to ensure a spot for your family.

“Most of the terrain along the trails is pretty easy and suitable for all types of riders and our tours run from March 1st, weather permitting, through the end of October if it doesn’t snow,” stated Shiloh.

After we got acquainted with our host, we were set up with our tour guide, Lee Roberts. “They estimate we have about 3,500 miles of trails up here. All of the towns around here are open to ATV’s and it makes it a great experience for everyone who comes up here,” he stated.

We started our ride on the three-mile loop, which is a fairly easy trail that provides a great way for anyone to get out and enjoy the Dixie National Forrest. While the basic trails were great and we had a good time, we really wanted to explore some of the other areas and the hundreds of miles of trail systems in the region, so we branched off from the three hour trail where we ran into forest recreation manager, Joe Rechsteiner.

“Casto Canyon is our crown jewel of ATV riding out here and of course the Pausaugunt trail system,” he stated, which made us very anxious to see what our journey had in store for us on our ride, but we would need to explore the Casto Canyon on a future trip since it was on the other side of the highway.

There are several trail loops on the Pausaugunt Plateau, including the King Creek Loop, Badger Creek Loop, the Crawford Pass, and the Straight Canyon Loop.
