Chad Wienen - Motoworks / Can-Am DS450 ATV |
Chad Wienen, the newest member of the Can-Am Motoworks
team has already claimed several wins and his first
championship, taking the win at the 2009 Montreal
Supercross and then winning the pro championship
at the inaugural World ATV Motocross Championship
Series.
Wienen, who has had his fair share of quad swapping
over the past few years is looking good on his
Can-Am and is confident going into the 2010 season.
“I feel really comfortable on the Can-am,
even more comfortable than I felt on the Kawasaki
last year. It was a really easy transition for
me and I think this season is going to be a good
one for me,” said Wienen.
Despite being a front runner at just about any
event, past injuries and mechanical issues had
made winning a National championship an elusive
prospect for the number 44 racer over the last
couple of years, but 2010 could prove to be Chad
Wienen’s year. “Motoworks has put
together a really solid program and I have been
working hard on strength training and endurance.
With the extended motos that we will be running
this year, I want to be able to go out there and
race for at least 30 minutes without feeling tired.
If I can do that, I have a great shot at winning,”
said Wienen.

Wienen signed with the Motoworks / Can-Am
Team in October, but in less 6 months, Wienen
has already claimed 2 championship on his
new DS450 ride |
Of course winning a championship is at the top
of the list when it comes to his goals for 2010,
but Wienen also has a couple of other goals, that
if achieved, could help put him in the number
one spot at the end of the season. “My goals
are to stay healthy and stay consistent. Anything
can happen out there when you’re racing,
someone could crash or break down and if you’re
right there, you can capitalize on that,”
he said.
With several wins and a World ATV MX Championship
under his belt, Wienen’s potential for this
season seems endless and his already forward momentum
could be just what it takes to propel him to his
first National championship.
