Canyon of the Eagles Resort & Hidden Falls Adventure Park Review

Hidden Falls Adventure Park Review
::Continued::

There are many water falls at the facility, about 14, but it was interesting to find out how exactly Hidden Falls got its name. “There are several natural springs on the property, and at various times of the year, some of the springs will actually go underground and pop back up further down the creek, so that’s how we got the name Hidden Falls,” explained Jeff Sellers.

Hidden Falls Aventure Park was named after the natural springs that feed the many creeks. Depending on the time of the year, some of the springs will go underground & pop back up furthur down the creek bed thus creating the "Hidden Falls" effect. There are 14 falls in total at Hidden Falls Adventure Park & range from 2ft to 15 foot high!

The biggest falls are about 15 feet high and run down into a big pool that is ideal for swimming and is a popular place for anyone looking to cool off a bit. There is also plenty of wildlife around the falls, including white tail deer, turkey, quail, doves, mountain lions, bobcats, coyotes, wild boar, lizards and snakes, including a few venomous ones.

As big fans of the very popular TV show Destination Polaris that airs on the Outdoor Channel, it was cool getting to see the behind the scenes of the filming of the TV Show

When we arrived, the folks at the dealerships had a wide array of Polaris ATV’s and UTV’s available for us to ride, including Polaris Rangers, RZR’s. We decided we would choose a Polaris Ranger 500 EFI for our ride.

We headed out on our journey, which would take us to the infamous Hidden Falls. There was plenty of evergreen trails, and some great vistas along the way. The terrain varied and ranged from very easy to very technical, with some few steep hill climbs. We rode several trails and were treated to wonderful scenery along the way. At lunch time we headed up to the Wildcat Vista where we were treated to a lunch of traditional Texas style grub.

Just as we finished up our catfish & hush puppy lunch ontop of Wildcat Vista, Destination Polaris called it a wrap filming because of a very strong storm system that created tornado in downtown Dallas, Texas was rolling in quickly

After lunch we headed back down to the staging area and our timing couldn’t have been better as a huge storm system came through the area with high winds, rain, thunder and lightning and tornado warnings. It was the same weather system that saw tornados go through downtown Dallas. Luckily, the Destination Polaris crew was able to get all their filming wrapped up before the storm hit. This was a great time for us and we a fun watching how things work behind the scenes at Destination Polaris. We are told that the episode should air sometime this fall.

We would highly recommend visiting the Canyon of the Eagles Resort and Hidden Falls Adventure Park. Both of these facilities are outstanding and offer a spectacular nature get-away for any wanting to enjoy the outdoors. We had such a wonderful time during our stay; we hope that we will be able to return soon to do more exploring!
