Unlike a typical rifle or shotgun, with a muzzle loader you only have one chance to put your animal on the ground without going through the lengthy reloading process, so accuracy is crucial with this weapon.
A muzzle loader uses a ball or sabot that is loaded at the front or muzzle of the gun. Loose powder or pellets of powder are measured and dumped into the muzzle, and then packed tightly by the projectile with a ram rod, which requires significantly more time to reload compared to a rifle or shotgun, so you really have to make your first shot count.

While Close Encounters Whitetail Outfitters has various properties they hunt within thirty minutes of the hunting lodge, they have a large chunk of land right at the camp for hunting, so instead of using a truck to drive out to the deer stand or ground blind, we utilized the Can-AM Commander XT 1000 SxS.

Our Can-Am Commander was outfitted with ITP Blackwater tires and ITP SS wheels to help us with traction in the variety of terrain at CEWO. The Blackwater tires offer an innovative 8 ply rated radial construction that provides excellent performance on side-by-side applications. ITP’s new “Tough Tread” rubber compound offers great wear against anything sharp or abrasive you may run into on the trail.
