1st Annual
SxS / UTV Glamis Sand Dunes Industry Ride Event
::Continued::
People started rolling in as early as Thursday
morning and began getting set for a weekend of
dunning. We made it out Friday night and were
greeted with a trailer-side viewing of “Warrior”
hosted by the guys at TMW Offroad in Mesa Arizona.
It was a little chillier than your average movie
theater, but considering the fact we were at Glamis
watching a great movie on a big screen, no one
was complaining.
Trailers and RV’s continued arriving through
the night, so by 8 a.m. the next morning camp
was pretty full. We rallied the troops for our
first ride and headed for famous “Oldsmobile
Hill”. Fortunately for us, most of the avid
duners must have still been at home sleeping off
the excitement from president’s weekend
as the dunes were fairly empty.

There
was plenty areas to take photos & catch
some hang time at the 1st Annual Glamis
Side-by-Side / UTV Industry Ride |
Because a large part of the trip was to provide
media coverage to the companies in attendance,
we set up a few spots to shoot photos and video
of anyone willing to hang it out a little bit.
As things tend to happen when the cameras come
out, some of the guys seemed to find an extra
dose of courage. The TMW Off-road guys wasted
no time airing out one of their turbo Polaris
RZR XP 4 900 SxS’s.

Another sweet UTV on hand was all-new SDR Motorsports’
2012 Polairs RZR XP 4 900 which had been converted
to a two-seater. They wanted the longer wheel
base for better overall handling but chose to
do away with the back row of seats to save weight.
They opted instead for a trick aluminum storage
box that doubles as a cooler rack. The Polaris
RZR had several of their own products on it like
a custom cage and doors and was outfitted with
a set of DWT’s 14 inch Sector beadlock wheels.

After a couple of hours of duning and a few photo
stops we headed back to camp for lunch and repairs.
As you can imagine when you get this many people
together, stuff is going to break. Fortunately
having so many different people in camp from so
many different companies, most people were able
to find the belts, axles, CV boots or whatever
else it was that they needed.
