Honda 400EX WORCS Racing Project

Honda 400EX WORCS Racing Project
::Continued::

Here comes back those butterflies again, it was FINALLY starting to feel like it did years before the night before a race. I hadn’t felt that excitement in a long time!
My next product to arrive was something I couldn’t imagine NOT having EVER in a WORCS race - Precision Racing Stabilizer, which is a must have for any kind of racing. The fit and finish is one of the easiest add-ons to install. This would be one of the main keys to a successful race for me as I knew the rocky terrain would be a handful to hold on for the long race.

A Precision Steering Stabilizer was also added to help cut down on arm pump & fatigue

My next challenge was going to be what tire to use that would offer the best overall traction in both Rocky and deep soft sand. The choice was very simple. I gave a call to Ty Zimmerman at GPS Off-Road Products located in North Las Vegas, Nevada to see if I could try a set of the Gold speed Sand Tires. I have been eyeballing these tires since 2013 Sand Hollow race when his Son Pro WORCS racer Dillon Zimmerman raced with them. I knew they would do the job perfectly.

The tires required a little gearing change for me as the front tires are 23x 6x10 and the rears are 21x10x9. The Goldspeed Sand tires offers a great combination of traction for Sandy conditions, but still have a spaced tread pattern to handle in the rocks and dirt sections. We have been huge Goldspeed tire and wheel fans since they first came out and I was stoked to finally get to see how they work first hand.

Another product we were able to add to my Honda was a set of handlebars. After thinking about it more and more, I soon realize I must have something better than what I have on their currently. The decision was simple. My friend Eli Madero at Adrenaline ATV & SxS set me up with a set of Fast Co Flexx bars and a bar riser to help relief some of the stress on my wrists and less hand fatigue and forearms.

We finished up a couple cosmetic items such as my seat cover. We sent it off to our friends at Jet Trim located in Havasu City, AZ. Jet trim products are so well made and offer fast return service.

We have had 3 of their seat covers now and they have been nothing less than superb.  My seat has lasted a decade of riding, racing and all the elements of weather with only minor corrections needing made. We had my gripping replaced and it looked like brand new again.
